A pair of damaged security bollards in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire, will have to wait a while longer before repair work begins.
The barriers were knocked over during an accident on Manchester Road in December but plans to fix the structures have been delayed due to a lack of equipment.
Kirklees Highway removed the damaged bollards and replaced them with a temporary cone weighed down by a sandbag and also covered up the hole left by the broken barriers.
However, residents complained to the Huddersfield Examiner saying that it was not a suitable measure to replace the bollards.
A spokeswoman for Kirkless Highway told the source: "Both bollards and a centre pole on the traffic island were damaged in an accident last year and we plan to replace this by February 3rd with new equipment."
Last year, the organisation took an innovative step in bollard technology by installing 2,000 solar-powered barriers across Huddersfield after they were approved by the Department for Transport.
