Residents who have campaigned for the fixing of damaged crash barriers that helped protect a children's play area have said they are pleased that improvement work has finally taken place.

Members of Shefford Town Council and locals from the Bedfordshire town teamed up to voice their protest over the broken traffic barriers situated at Churchill Way, according to biggleswadetoday.co.uk.

The barriers, which were erected to provide protection for a play area nearby, had become damaged by vehicles making their way out of the road.

Residents and members of Shefford Town Council have long campaigned for the barrier close to Churchill Way in Shefford to be fixed after it became damaged by vehicles leaving the road.

According to the news provider, the traffic barriers have been hit over five times in our years.

Paul Mackin, mayor of Shefford, told the news source he was happy improvement work had been undertaken, after a council meeting about the issue.

Just this month a man from Ireland said he had asked for crash barriers to be installed outside his home after repeated incidents at the site.
