Residents in Bristol have questioned plans to erect high security fencing around a playing field in the town.
The proposed fencing solution will cost an estimated £1 million and many residents from the area are against the development.
According to the Bristol Evening Post, the council is planning to enclose Stoke Lodge fields so that they are preserved for Cotham School.
Council spokesperson Catherine De Lisle reassured residents that they would be consulted on the high security fencing plans before they were approved by the local authority.
She told the news provider: "The separate issue of community access to school playing fields has gone out to consultation with neighbourhood partnerships."
"We must weigh up the benefit of access to the public with the safety of school children," she added.
Residents living near Lindisfarne Middle School, in Alnwick, recently voiced concerns over a £20,000 plan for high security fencing in the area.
