A set of security bollards in Arbroath, Angus, are causing concerns for drivers in the area.

The Arbroath Herald reported that the barriers on Emislaw Drive, on the Westway, have reduced visibility and a driver has complained that even when illuminated they cannot be clearly seen.

David Beattie, who uses the road on a regular basis, has said that the bollards are covered in mud, which blocks the 'keep left' warning and makes them difficult to see at night.

He has also said that the concrete platform they are situated on can cause a hazard when not visible to drivers.

Mr Beattie told the newspaper: "The bollards and the plinth they are on are not readily visible when the street lights go out and you are on them before you are aware they are there."

Bollards have been a thorn in the side for some residents in Newburgh, Lancashire, as they have restricted disabled access to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
