School fencing will be installed at a school in Salisbury after a spate of vandalism.
According to the Salisbury Journal, St Leonard's Primary School in Bulford will receive the new school fencing after several acts of vandalism stretching over the past few years. The most recent incident involved cutting wires, glue poured on an outside classroom, and pots, part of a school project, smashed.
The site currently only has a "low-level post and wire fence", but staff feel a 1.8 metre security fence is needed to protect the perimeter.
And thanks to a government grant that will now happen. Headteacher Sarah Ward told the newspaper: "The community has rallied around to try to prevent future problems but safeguarding the children is paramount so we feel we still need to go ahead with this."
Last month it was reported that high security fencing will be installed at a site in Wigan to protect community meetings.
