High security fencing has been erected at a Californian university ahead of ex-Alaska governor Sarah Palin's upcoming visit.
Metal fencing and access control points have been erected as a protection measure for the former government official, who is attending a function at California State University, Stanislaus, later today (Friday June 25th).
The 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate is speaking at a black-tie fundraising event on the university's campus.
A university spokesperson told the Mercury News that installing high security fencing was a standard procedure and claimed that the campus would remain open to students.
The spokesperson also told the news provider that other security measures - as well as the temporary security fencing solution - would be put in place, but did not elaborate on these.
Earlier this year, Palin erected a high security fence around her family home to protect her and her family from the prying eyes of journalists.
