Three-metre high mesh sports fencing will go up at the edge of a site for a proposed state-of-the-art training centre, if planners give it the go ahead.

Huddersfield Town's £5 million training centre has already passed the first stage of the development, which includes relocating the bowling and cricket pavilions, reported the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

The club is now waiting on Kirklees Council to approve the second part of the regeneration.

The security fencing will provide essential security for the high-tech centre, which will include a massive investment of £100,000 per pitch.

According to the newspaper reported that the centre would include IT and video rooms, offices and ten changing rooms.

Developers would also be looking at installing a water pump house and water tank.

Security fencing is an important feature at any sports-related venues, which are often targets for vandals. Last year Poynton Sports Club in Manchester erected fencing to combat the trouble it was having at its ground, which required the club to make calls out to police as much as four times a week.
