Toddlers at Broadway & Towerview Playgroup will no longer be able to visit their local activity park after a request for security fencing was rejected by Broadway Parish Council.

The group asked for a fence to be constructed around the playground because parents with more than one child struggle to keep an eye on them at all times, reports the Tewkesbury Admag.

However, after consulting the council's playground inspector, Broadway Parish Council decided that high security fencing was unnecessary.

Kevin Beasley, clerk of the parish council, told the news provider: "Due to the location of the park, the inspector did not see a reason why a fence should be put up."

Meanwhile, council chairman David Folkes was reported as saying: "[Broadway & Towerview Playgroup are] saying they won't use the park. Well, they're not obliged to use it."

Last month in Little Leigh, local residents were encouraged to attend a council meeting over the future of metal railings around a local play area, reported the Northwich Guardian.ADNFCR-3337-ID-19869371-ADNFCR
