Youths who have taken to congregating on a number of playing fields in Colne are set to be deterred from 'hanging out' in the area by new high security fencing.
Metal railings will be erected at the King George V Playing Fields on Skipton Road as a means of tackling anti-social behaviour, reports the Lancashire Telegraph.
Plans to install security fencing, which will prevent youths from sitting on a wall at the park, have already been approved by councillors.
Colin Patten, Pendle's parks and recreation service manager, told the news provider: "By installing stub railings to the top of the existing dwarf stone wall along the frontage of Skipton Road, youths will be unable to use the wall top as a seating area preventing them from antagonising local residents whose properties face the open space."
Recently, the England Beach Soccer Association's World Cup event in Shoreditch was cancelled - despite high security fencing being installed to tackle anti-social behaviour, reports the Hackney Gazette.
