Halliwell Jones specializes in new, or Approved Used BMW sales, in addition to providing a comprehensive servicing and accessories offering to BMW owners.
The business had invested in a state of the art new Service Centre at its Chester headquarters, designed to deliver a host of services and facilities to its loyal BMW customer base. The company prides itself on providing the best after sales care in the country and the innovative three lane ‘drive-in’ concept which ensures a seamless journey from arrival in the welcoming waiting area through to collection of the vehicle, is an example of Halliwell Jones’ commitment to a superior standard of customer care.
The overarching challenge was to establish an enhanced level of security at the premises, combined with effective, easy to manage access control, but with absolutely no compromise on the overall aesthetics of the site.
On a practical level, other challenges included the supply of Jackson EuroGuard® Combi fencing with the timber inserts stained to match a specific house grey shade. In addition, one of the customized automated EuroGuard® Combi sliding gates required special adaptations to suit the site layout.
Solution
The line of EuroGuard® Combi was required as part of the development of a striking newly built service centre. This product is supplied as standard with natural timber slats, which (as per all Jacksons timber) have been Jakcure® treated to offer long lasting and highly effective protection against rot and wood boring pests. However, the client required the timber slat inserts to be provided in the house colour grey, which needed to be sourced from Denmark. Traditionally EuroGuard® Combi is powder coated mesh in either standard black or green as a complete panel, featuring slats in the natural Jakcure finish. However, because of the exacting requirements of this project, the timber slats were first hand stained grey before being secured to the sturdy top and bottom rails to create the unique ultra strong steel / timber fence.
The demands of the site also required one of the four automated EuroGuard® Combi gates installed to be customised. The reduced space within which the gate was required to operate necessitated a stronger cantilever structure and portals to cope with the added weight. These two components of the gate were therefore especially manufactured using reinforced steel to accommodate the additional loading.
