People living in an area of Bolton want crash barriers installed on their street following a series of accidents, it has been reported.

According to thisislancashire.co.uk, hundreds of people living on and around the city's Moss Bank Way, have been calling on the local council to employ crash barriers for two years.

There have been several collisions near the Doffcocker roundabout, where residents want the crash barriers installed. Countless times people have witnessed cars veering off the road and mounting the pavement.

Concerned resident Tracey Stott began a petition after seeing another incident just last week. With the backing of over 400 local people and businesses, Ms Stott is confident action will now be taken.

Worried about the safety of children, she told the news provider: "My only hope is that it gets resolved before yet another life is lost."

Bolton council have said they will now review safety measures at the roundabout.
