Thieves steal wooden gates in Evesham

Thieves steal wooden gates in Evesham
Thieves in Evesham have stolen highly secure wooden gates, the same type used for acoustic fencing, from a religious headquarters.

A report by the Evesham Observer said that the criminals made off with the gates which are believed to be worth thousands of pounds from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Twyford.

Witnesses in the area saw a white pick up van around the time of the theft, between 10pm on December 1st and 9am on December 2nd, and police are urging people with information to come forward.

PC James Wood, from Evesham Police Station, told the source: "It would be unusual for someone to take such gates if they didn't have a specific purpose in mind for them leaving me to believe that they were either stolen to order or for the offenders themselves."

This incident follows a series of gate thefts in Worcestershire where criminals were reported to be stealing valuable wrought iron gates.
