Abbots Langley benefiting from new fencing

Abbots Langley benefiting from new fencing
Residents in Abbots Langely, Hertfordshire, are already commending the new security fencing and posts which are deterring "ignorant motorists".

The Hillside Resident's Association had been furious when drivers were turning the local village green in School Mead, outside the organisation's office, into an "unsightly boggy marsh" by carelessly parking in the area.

However, with the installation of new fencing, posts and metal railings it has managed to stop motorists parking outside the office and has allowed members to attend meetings in peace once again.

Peter Scott, chairman of the association, told the Watford Observer: "We're over the moon. Already the area is looking better thanks to these posts and railings. They were installed a couple of weeks ago and it has made a difference."

The barriers were provided by Watford Community Housing Trust, a not-for-profit company specialising in empowering neighbourhoods, at a cost of £1,534.
