Security fencing is part of a new development that will turn a park in Walsall into a state-of-the-art community space.

Kings Hill Park will benefit from a £200,000 revamp, taking place over the next five years, the Walsall Advertiser reports.

Last year, some £40,000 was secured from a housing development to create new security fencing and signage, developing a set of new footpaths.

"The masterplan, when finalised, will be a five-year vision for the development of the park as a high quality, valued community green space which builds upon ongoing consultation with ward members, local residents, park users, the Friends' Group and community partners," councillor Anthony Harris, cabinet member at Walsall Council, said.

"A large amount of work has already taken place and the masterplan shows a commitment to ensuring further major improvements are carried out over the next five years," he added.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that a new water park in Somerset will also employ security fencing.ADNFCR-3337-ID-800200033-ADNFCR
