A new community arena is soon to be opened at Oxford City Football Club, which will likely include the use of sports fencing.

The facility has been developed at a cost of £2.1 million and will include a range of features, including a full-size artificial grass pitch and six floodlit netball courts.

Oxford City Football Club's volunteer managing director Colin Taylor explained that the arena will bring benefits to the whole of the city.

"Local clubs like Marston Saints and Summertown Stars have already been on the phone to ask if they can book the pitch for training," he told the Oxford Mail.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-November, just 18 months after funding was confirmed by the Football Foundation and Sport England.

It was recently reported by the Eastbourne Herald that permission was being sought to build a skate park in Manor Gardens, Eastbourne.
