Nuisance security bollards in Ryhl, Denbighshire, have caused "mayhem" for residents around the Welsh town.
The barriers that line the busy Trellewelyn Road have been at the centre of a number of accidents involving passers by. The latest incident involved a ten-year-old boy who collided with one of the barriers whilst playing on a push-scooter.
Whilst the council believes that the bollards improve safety along the road, residents have stated that rather than protecting them it has made the street narrower and more dangerous.
With Rhyl home to a number of beaches the upcoming holiday season is expected to see a host of tourists heading to the Welsh holiday spot and this has raised even higher safety concerns.
Helen Harris, of Helen’s Hair salon, told the Journal: "I've lived here 50 years, and there has never been an accident until they put a bus stop opposite the shops. It’s an absolutely crazy idea to have it there, it's the busiest area and the bollards have caused absolute mayhem."
