Security fencing could be required in Wrexham after a playground was torched by arsonists last week (September 5th).

Residents and local officials have expressed their upset at the damage, which includes burning of the Gwenfro Valley tree house.

Children are now unable to use the facility, only a short time after the site's open day took place with a bouncy castle and face painting, leaderlive.co.uk reports.

Theresa Burling, deputy manager of Gwenfro Valley, told the news provider that "the initial reaction was one of shock".

She added: "The tree house is one of the most popular facilities here and the children really do think of it as a special place, they have a sense of ownership.

"The tree house hasn't been destroyed, but because it has been so badly damaged we have had to put it off limits for now until repairs can be carried out."

More fencing could also be required in Cardiff after a biker was filmed performing wheelies close to the Rumney Recreation Ground.
