Everton striker Louis Saha has escaped unharmed after crashing his Ferrari into security fencing in Cheshire, it has been reported.

The star was driving in Wilmslow on Sunday evening when he lost control on the A538 Altrincham Road, the BBC reported Cheshire Police as confirming.

Saha, 32, emerged unscathed after crashing into the security fencing and did not need to go to hospital.

The incident is close to the spot where Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo crashed his Ferrari in 2009.

"Officers attended the scene where a Ferrari had collided with a fence outside the tunnel on Altrincham Road, Wilmslow, at 20:54 GMT," the BBC quoted police as saying in a statement.

Saha played in Everton's game against Sunderland on Saturday, in which the Merseyside team won 2-0.
