Residents in Gloucestershire are urging the council to spend money gained from a supermarket developer to go towards a new play area.
LXB properties, which is currently building a new £34 million project at the "railway triangle" to provide the area with a new Morrison's, car showroom, pub and restaurant, has given the council £40,000 under a Section 106 deal.
This agreement means that a potential developer has to provide a certain amount of money to the local authority to maintain the upkeep of the area's infrastructure by building facilities such as recreational, health, education or affordable housing.
Now, residents within the region are urging the council to use the money to build a play area for youngsters to use.
Joe McAleer, of Wotton, told The Citizen: "The play area at Elmbridge Park was attacked by vandals and set on fire, maybe creating a new one nearby would be a good idea. We could also spend it on better street lights so it really benefits the community."
