A neglected play area in Leeds is set to see the security fencing go up following an £85,000 boost.

The site at Boggart Hill, Seacroft, is to be subject of major investment on the Rein development which will see not only money set aside to develop the play park but the nearby allotment as well.

Residents and owners of these plots will be able to benefit from better connections to water supplies as well improved fencing in a bid to encourage more people to take up vegetable growing.

Meanwhile, the play area will have new five-a-side goalposts, swings, a roundabout as well as a host of other play equipment. The money has been granted from a Section 106 agreement from the government which aims to boost development in amenities across the country.

Councillor Graham told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I am delighted about this scheme to transform the Rein. When complete, it will have top of the range play ground facilities for local children to enjoy."
