Sports fencing could be installed at a site in Wiltshire after it was revealed that Melksham sports club will be moving to a new campus in the coming years.

The new area will be situated in the middle of the town centre when completed in 2014 after Wiltshire Council purchased land from Melksham House and Blue Pool from Cooper Tires.

Locals have reacted positively to the news, saying that the town's sports clubs will have a bright future because of the changes, reports thisiswiltshire.co.uk.

Wendy Clayton, secretary of Melksham Ladies Bowls Club, told the news provider that she will be working on finding a home for the one year gap they have.

"We should be getting a new bowls centre as long as the campus definitely gets built," she said.

"The only problem is we only have a lease here until 2013, so with it being delayed until 2014 we could potentially be homeless for a year and run the risk of losing some members."

Melksham is a small market town and has a population of around 23,000.
