Metal gates have replaced a number of stiles in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park as part of a project to improve walker access and make the park safer.
Some 16 stiles from two footpaths close to St Brides Castle were replaced with attractive metal kissing gates by national park rangers.
Also, an historic iron crested gate, dating back to the 19th century, was also renovated.
Haydn Garlick, park ranger, thanked the local landowners for their involvement in the improvement works, funded via a Coastal Access grant from the Welsh Assembly Government.
The manager of St Brides Castle, Mandy Rees, said: "The area sees daily walkers, even in winter. The gates reduce the risk of a trip or a fall on a stile, and ease access onto the wonderful coastline. It's a rural area and our guests come to walk regardless of the weather."
According to Visit Pembrokeshire, the national park is the only one in the country that is almost entirely coastal.
