Play area fencing will be required in Newmarket after plans were revealed to create a new park in the area.
West Row Village Hall and Playing Field Association have announced that £105,000 will be invested in creating a new play area in the village with only the swings remaining from the old site.
Michael Peachey, a spokesman for the association, told the Newmarket Journal that with the majority of equipment well over 20 years old, they were in "desperate need of replacing".
He added that new play area fencing will be installed if a grant is given from the National Lottery.
"We have applied to Forest Heath for a grant to help us put up some new fencing. Should we get that then the first phase of work could start within the next few weeks," he told the news provider.
"Although we have one grant turned down by the big lottery fund we have been invited to send in another revised plan."
Meanwhile, Chorley families will be able to take their children to a play area in the town when housing developer Taylor-Wimpey completes the project on the Gillibrand South Estate.
