A multi-storey car park in Woodhouse Lane could undergo £5.5 million worth of improvements ahead of Leeds Arena's opening in 2013.
Among improvements are concrete repairs and strengthening work, along with a new stair and lift tower with a pedestrian access bridge, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Coun Richard Lewis, Leeds City Council's executive member responsible for city development, told the news provider that there will be a number of training and employment opportunities made available through the work.
"This is essential repair and refurbishment work and while we accept that there will be some disruption to users of the car park, we have tried to keep this to a minimum and manage the work around the daily usage of the building," he added.
Meanwhile, new pedestrian guardrails are among the new features unveiled at the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre, which opened last week (September 13th).
