A new play area will allow children from a primary school in Knutsford in the north-west to enjoy outdoor activities after a decade of fundraising.
According to the Knutsford Guardian, Bexton Primary School, with help from the Friends of Bexton, has spent the past ten years raising £35,000 in order to install some play area fencing and equipment for the children.
A canopy will also be included in the development which will act as a shelter for pupils to be taught outside.
Emily Armstrong, assistant head teacher at Bexton Primary School, said that the development will be a fantastic resource.
"We are trying to promote the early years curriculum and support the children outside the classroom as well as inside it," she added.
The Yorkshire Evening Post recently reported that around £230,000 has been made available to two Leeds neighbourhoods for improvement works, with a £130,000 playground to be created in Roundhay.
