A substantial amount of security fencing is being erected in preparation for Carlisle's Big Weekend music festival this weekend.
In total, over 10,000 metres of security fencing will help transform Carlisle airport into a Radio 1 Big Weekend venue, helping provide invaluable safety to the 40,000 music fans who are expected to descend on the festival.
Work on the site began two weeks ago, reported the News & Star, and the final stages of construction will see the 13,000 capacity main stage finished in time for the big launch.
Steve Hill, the site manager for the temporary development, told the newspaper: "Every big weekend has its own unique set challenges and with Carlisle we are building on a working airfield. Planes continue to fly in and out only and will only stop Friday to Monday. We have been working closely with the airport to ensure everything is safe and it has been great so far."
The Big Weekend is always the first major British music festival of the year and has hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry including Foo Fighters, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Madonna.
