Play area fencing will be installed in Podsmead in Gloucestershire over the coming months after the local council received a £5,000 grant.

The children's play area in Scott Avenue will be refurbished to help provide even better facilities for families that already head to the area.

Gloucester City Council confirmed that while the grant has been made, work will not begin until September or October as it consults residents and local schools, reports thisisgloucestershire.co.uk.

Councillor Jennie Dallimore told the news provider that she is "absolutely delighted" at the news.

"Podsmead is going to have two lovely areas for children. We haven't had any investment in Scott Avenue for some time so with the Multi Use Games Area in the road and this I am clearly delighted for the children of Podsmead," she said.

Meanwhile, play area fencing will also be installed in Newmarket following massive investment from the National Lottery.
