Residents in Headington, Oxford, have claimed that new roadworks designed to calm traffic in the area have not helped.
Oxfordshire County Council has installed security bollards and speed bumps in a bid to improve the traffic situation around the town but this has not worked. Residents have complained that whilst the work has been in progress there have been major congestion problems around Headington.
The Oxford Times reported that the worst affected areas have been the junction at Latimer Road and All Saints Road. The council has already highlighted a lack of signage causing the majority of problems.
Ruth Wilkinson, city councillor, told the source: "Some residents have told us the volume and speed of traffic in Lime Walk has reduced. But most drivers want more signs to show who has right of way at this junction and some drivers report their sight lines are partially obstructed by parked cars."
Councillors in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, have also had to defend their decision to install bollards around the town as the Western Telegraph reported a number of complaints from residents in the area.
