Australian musician Nick Cave has been offered driver training after crashing his vehicle into roadside crash barriers and a speed camera, it has been reported.
Cave collided with the camera and guardrail in his Jaguar saloon in December last year, when he was driving in Hove, East Sussex. He escaped unharmed, along with his two sons.
Reports say that Cave, who fronts Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, has been offered the place on a driver training course instead of facing prosecution. He was not arrested after the crash.
"The driver was voluntarily interviewed by police and a decision was made to offer him a place on a driver improvement scheme as an alternative to prosecution," a Sussex Police spokesman said.
According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, driving is the most dangerous work activity that people do. More people are killed or injured in at-work road accidents than all other accidents at work combined.
