Security bollards are part of a raft of security measures that will improve conditions in Windsor's popular drinking spots.
Three pub, club and restaurant districts in the town will benefit from the £440,000 project announced by the council, the Maidenhead Advertiser said.
Starting in January next year, rising security bollards will be installed at Goswell Hill to ensure the road can only be accessed by pedestrians. Street lighting and CCTV will also be improved.
Elsewhere, fixed bollards will be deployed outside pubs and clubs on William Street.
The town's shopping centre will also benefit from three security bollards outside its Thames Street entrance.
Councillor Colin Rayner, cabinet member for highways and streetcare, was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "We want to support our residents and help reduce inconvenience to people living nearby while simultaneously reducing the risks to visitors' safety and security."
