A school in Hampshire will be able to improve its security fencing after receiving a substantial cash grant from its local council.
Nicholson Pre-school, in Gosport, has been given £1,562 to improve fencing by Hampshire County Council, the Portsmouth News reports.
The school is one of many sites to be awarded with money as part of a community project funding scheme, open to people living or working in the Town, Christchurch and Leesland areas of the city.
In total, £10,000 has been given out.
Councillor Chris Carter was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "All the projects put forward were deserving of support so residents had a difficult task in weighing up which ones they felt were of the highest priority for funding. It's great that so many projects were able to receive financial assistance."
Other beneficiaries include the White Lion Walk Youth Leaders Project. The drop-in service for young people received £1,700.
Gosport Street Pastors, which works to help vulnerable people, was given £1,200.
