Members of a community group say they will not be beaten by vandals after their play area was targeted recently.

According to the Knutsford Guardian, the security fencing surrounding the Moor was smashed down last night (December 2nd), with graffiti left on the play area's hut.

"It is just one of those things but we can't give in," Vivien Davies, chairman of Friends of the Moor, told the newspaper.

"When we went down on Friday we saw the fencing and the house had been vandalised, so we told the police and the council," he added.

The fencing has been made safe and will be repaired soon, the newspaper said.

Recently, the site manager at a school in Portishead conceded it had been forced to attach metal spikes to the metal gates at its entrance to stop trouble causers entering the site at night.

Paul Wilson told the Bristol Evening Post: "It is unfortunate as we don't want the school to look foreboding, but we feel as if we have little choice as we need to protect the property," he added.ADNFCR-3337-ID-800272358-ADNFCR
