One nursery school could soon be spending big on play area fencing after it won £20,000 in a competition.

Hope Nursery School in Belfast received the highest number of votes in Nickelodeon's Help Dora Help contest, which encourages toddlers to learn through exploration.

It said it would use the funds to improve the landscaping of the outdoor play area in such a way that would get the children to engage in creative, imaginative and physical play.

Julianne Fleming, nursery teacher at Hope Nursery School, told the Belfast Telegraph that everyone was delighted to have been chosen to receive the funding.

She continued: "We worked hard to create a real buzz around the nursery being shortlisted and it's obviously paid off with so many people voting for us."

Meanwhile, residents of Banbury are currently being asked how facilities can be improved at the Browning Park play area, which will soon be renovated.
