Work on a £45,000 playground development in Hail Western, Cambridgeshire, got underway this week.
There were shrieks of delight from local children as the security fencing was put up to signal the beginning of the construction. The money has been provided by WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Limited) which supports projects that are eligible for the Landfill Communities Fund.

Barry Easom, a local resident and project manager for the Playing Fields Redevelopment, told the source: "Since we began improving the playground, there has been a huge increase in its use, not only by kids and families but the community as a whole."
Hail Western is one of many towns celebrating the development of play areas as the Daily Gazette reported that councillors in Stanway, Essex, are planning "grand openings" for two new play areas in the region.
