Steel fencing could be installed by residents in Yorkshire after criminals stole £200 worth of wooden bordering.
Locals in Woodlesford had previously installed around 22 panels of fencing on the corner of Station Lane and Aberford Road, all of which were sponsored by a local timber firm.
The newer panels were installed to replace broken fencing by a local group headed by Jonathan Davis, reports yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.
However, between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning last week (August 14th and 15th), four panels measuring six foot by three foot were taken.
Peter Lovatt, a member of the Woodlesford in Bloom group, told the news provider that the theft had left many residents "dispirited".
Police are now appealing for witnesses and are calling on anybody offered the panels for sale to contact them.
Meanwhile, Billericay will install security fencing to protect a local beauty spot from vandalism following £25,000 worth of damage caused recently.
