School fencing will be installed in Hull after a building firm was given contracts worth £65 million to construct new buildings.

Three projects are set to be built by Morgan Sindall between now and January 2013 as the local area undergoes a period of regeneration.

Kingswood College of Arts, Oakfield Special Needs School and the Andrew Marvell Business and Enterprise College are to be welcomed in the area in this time.

Gordon Ray, Morgan Sindall's regional managing director, told hvnplus.co.uk that his company is looking forward to delivering "vital learning facilities".

"This is another major step forward for Hull's largest regeneration scheme and great news for the local communities that these three new schools will serve," he said.

"Morgan Sindall is nearing completion on the BSF programme's two 'sample' schemes at Winifred Holtby and Tweendykes School and Archbishop Sentamu Academy."

Education chiefs St Mary's RC Primary School in Tyne and Wear erected steel gates earlier this month following a safety scare.
