According to the Manchester Evening News, the club has been granted permission to close Sir Matt Busby Way to traffic in order to keep fans visiting the ground safe when the team isn't playing.
Although some people have complained about the situation, cabbie Paul Brent, also chairman of the National Taxi Association, told the newspaper he thought the bollards were doing a good job.
"The bollards are hydraulic and can be lowered in case of an emergency which is good because that was a big concern," he said.
"The new ranks are bigger and better."
An iconic part of Manchester United's history, Sir Matt Busby Way runs behind Scoreboard End. Club officials were concerned about protecting fans who attend club tours and turn up at the ground at non-match times.
The club recently paraded through Manchester as part of the Premier League victory celebrations.
