Firms might want to think about volunteer schemes when they look to develop their corporate responsibility strategies.

A group of volunteers have come together to help improve the security fencing around a school in Coventry.

According to the Coventry Telegraph, about 30 employees from electricity and gas supplier E.ON joined in the work at Ernesford Grange Community School.

The group, who work at Westwood Business Park, helped to make an outdoor play and learning facility.

In addition to improving the site's security fencing, they developed a poly tunnel, which children will use to learn about plant and vegetable growing, and dug a new flowerbed.

Helen Noble, deputy head, told the newspaper: "This was a mammoth task which we would never have had time to do ourselves.

"We have terrific school grounds and now we will be able to make the most of this area."ADNFCR-3337-ID-800211571-ADNFCR
