A pair of teenagers have handed themselves into police after damaging parking barriers at Carlisle railway station.
British Transport Police launched an appeal in the local press to identify the youths, who were captured on CCTV in the area at the time of the crime.
The 17-year-old was given a formal reprimand for the attack on the parking barriers, while the other, aged 18, was given a fixed penalty for the disorder.
PC Darren Rogers, who investigated the incident, commented: "I would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in locating those responsible."
Meanwhile, the Highways Agency has announced that work is to be carried out on traffic barriers along the M6 in Cumbria to better protect road users.
It will affect the hard shoulder between Junction 39 of the motorway at Shap and Junction 42 near Carlisle on November 21st and December 4th.
