Solution

The solution comprised of 36 metres of 2.5 metre high Jakoustic® Reflective acoustic fencing, installed on timber tuning fork posts with black steel spur supports, and an additional 4.8 metres of 2 metre high acoustic barriers.

The primary installation was strategically positioned along the boundary nearest to residential properties, creating a substantial acoustic screen between the kennels and neighbouring homes.

Acoustic barriers to reduce noise

Importantly, the acoustic fencing was installed with a very specific goal: reducing the impact of barking noise on neighbouring properties. While some acoustic barriers are often used to shield sites from external noise sources such as roads, railways, or industrial activity, this project focused on containing sound generated within the site itself. By reducing the escape of barking noise, the fencing helps create a more harmonious relationship between the kennel and the surrounding community.
