Security bollards in Burton have been causing havoc for motorists after another driver hit the barrier on the High Street.
The Burton Mail reported that the vehicle collided with the bollard after a warning sign on the road was turned the wrong way. It came just days after two other cars crashed into the barrier in less than 24 hours.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene but the driver, who wished to remain anonymous, was unhurt.
A spokesman for Staffordshire police said: "We attended the scene after driving past and noticing that a motorist had struck the bollards. We stopped to make sure nobody was injured and also to make sure that an oil spillage was being monitored and dealt with."
Staffordshire County Council initially installed the bollards in 2008 in a bid to stop driver breaking restrictions within the town centre.
In Northumberland there has also been anger at installations of bollards as shop owners say a disputed barrier in Alnwick is damaging business.
