Demand for security solutions such as gate automation has been particularly buoyant in the public sector, a new Research and Markets report has suggested.
The Electronic Security and Access Control Market Report - UK 2011-2015 Analysis reveals that the education and health sectors in particular have shown demand for such products.
On the other hand, the private sector has cut down on its levels of investment and expenditure, leading to fewer access control installations.
As a result of public sector demand, the researchers emphasised that manufacturers have been forced to demonstrate competitive pricing in order to keep ahead of other suppliers.
This has worked to the benefit of customers, who can now purchase products at the best price possible.
It recently emerged that Staffordshire County Council had spent almost £40,000 on new security bollards to protect its headquarters from ram raids and other potentially dangerous attacks.
