Security bollards are being proposed as part of a £1 million regeneration programme for a Welsh town.
Plans for Thompson Street, in Barry, have been put on display online and at council offices so that residents can learn about the project, the South Wales Echo reports.
Work is scheduled to start next month and should be completed by the end of August.
New security bollards, CCTV, road paving, drainage work, street lighting and litter bins will all be installed.
What's more, parking spaces will be created for shoppers to use, there will be better facilities on bus services, and dropped kerbs will mean safer road crossing spots.
Councillor Gordon Kemp, leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "Thompson Street is set to be transformed and will serve as a fitting gateway that will link the town centre with the Waterfront via the new footbridge."
A popular seaside resort, Barry's attractions include Barry Beach and harbour, and there are plenty of restaurants, shops and pubs.
