A number of world class athletes will be on hand next month to ensure that the London Olympics volleyball facilities, including sports fencing, are ready for the actual events next year.

The Visa FIVB Beach Volleyball International event will be taking place between August 9th and 14th at Horse Guards Parade and will feature 24 teams as the organisers ensure that the venue is ready for 2012.

Two teams from Great Britain will be among those involved, including Lucy Boulton and Denise Johns as well as Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney.

Colin Grannell, head of partnership marketing at Visa Europe, explained that people will be able to have a sneak preview of what is to come.

"This event will be the perfect opportunity not only to ensure we're fully prepared for the millions of visitors who will come to London and use their Visa cards at Games venues but also for the athletes to get a feel for what we hope will be the best Games ever," he said.

The Road Cycling event will be taking place on August 14th through several London boroughs and the Surrey area.
