Security bollards were unable to stop a car smashing into the entrance of a bowling alley in Bolton.
Employees at the Hollywood Bowl in Middlebrook were left stunned when they saw a silver Ford Focus careering through the doors of the bowling alley and crashing into the customer service counter.
A woman has been charged with drink driving following the incident which has caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to the popular attraction. Nobody was hurt at the scene but members of staff are counting their lucky stars that the car managed to miss everyone.
Stephanie-Kate Burrell, from Darwen, Lancashire, said: "I was just about to shut the car door when I heard the loudest noise of the revs. This car came past and it went straight through. There were alarms going off and at first we thought it was an armed robbery. It was just crazy."
It comes after ram raiders in Masham, North Yorkshire, made off with a cash point after knocking down bollards with a stolen JCB.
