High security fencing could be required at a site in Pitsea after teenagers were found to be breaking to a site that was once damaged by fire.

Homes in Bockingham Green were destroyed by flames in November 2009 and have not been rebuilt since, remaining boarded off instead.

Youngsters have been ignoring the safety signs and are climbing in anyway, endangering themselves in the process, reports echo-news.co.uk.

Neighbour Dave Suggs told the news provider that more security needed to ensure that nobody is hurt and no more damage is done.

"They recently tried setting light to the fencing and succeeded in setting some bushes on fire," he explained.

"There's nothing to stop them, because you never see any security guards around there any more."

The Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust could also be considering high security fencing after a group of travellers set up camp in Walmsley Park last week, despite another group being evicted by a court order.
