Security fencing will be installed to fence off land in Wrexham in preparation for the development of a much needed link road.

According to the Leader, the need for the link road, on Wrexham Industrial Estate, was identified as far back as the 1970s.

In 2001, the carriageway from Gresford roundabout to Wrexham Golf Course was dualed, and now, after a public inquiry, the full project will begin in earnest.

As well as employing security fencing, trees and hedgerows will also be removed during the development.

Councillor David Bithell, lead member for environment and transport, told the newspaper: "The advance works are essential in that they will safeguard protected species and minimise the risk of delays to the major works which will start in 2011."

After the signing of a contractor, expected in February 2011, the works will begin in spring of that year, and are expected to be completed by 2012.

Recently, security fencing made from recycled plastic was deployed along one of Leicester's busiest roads.ADNFCR-3337-ID-800280506-ADNFCR
