New housing project in north London moves step closer
A housing project in north London has moved a step closer after building services specialist J S Wright won a mechanical and engineering (M&E) contract.
The development is set to be created next to Arsenal's Emirates Stadium and will consist of a mixture of luxury apartments and penthouses.
J S Wright secured the £5.7 million deal following extensive talks and will now work alongside
Barratt London to
install the mechanical services needed for the 375 new properties. They will be spread across three residential towers at Queensland Road in
Construction Enquirer reports that due to its location, just a stone's throw from the Premier League ground, developers are targeting Gunners fans that are looking for premises in the shadow of their team's home stadium. Arsenal sold the site to
Barratt London and social landlord London & Quadrant last summer in a deal worth
£26 million and following this latest move a completion date is scheduled for June 2016.
Aniol, managing director of
J S Wright, told the news provider: “We are delighted to have been appointed by
Barratt Homes for our biggest residential project in London. Arsenal fans moving into the new development can expect ‘premier league’ building services.”
Under the agreement, J S Wright will be providing heating supplied both under the floor and through a series of utilities around the home. The company is dedicated to providing the services to an eco-friendly standard.
Arsenal moved into their Emirates Stadium home in 2006 after leaving their former ground, Highbury. The latter had hosted Gunners' matches since 1913 but has now been converted into a residential area with a host of flat and apartments. A number of these properties were snapped up by supporters keen to stay in a major part of the club's history.
Developers are confident that the new homes next to the Emirates will have a similar effect and give people the opportunity to live just mere minutes away from the base of their favourite football club.
