Jacksons Fencing Named Business Of The Year
Ashford based perimeter security and timber fencing specialist, Jacksons Fencing has today been awarded the title ‘South of England Business of the Year’ in the prestigious British Chamber of Commerce Chamber Awards 2012.
Competing against businesses throughout the South of England, the judging panel was impressed by Jacksons’ ability to bounce back from recession through diversification, innovation and exceptional customer service. In addition, the judges drew reference to the company’s pioneering work in the safety arena, with Jacksons receiving high praise for its outstanding efforts in raising the standards of automated gate safety via the Gate Safe campaign founded by CEO Richard Jackson. Gate Safe was set up in the wake of the death of two young children in separate automated gate accidents and continues to campaign tirelessly for an enhanced understanding of the required safety protocol amongst all professionals associated with the installation of powered gates.
Jacksons Fencing will now represent the South of England, in the category ‘Business of the Year’, competing at the national finals which are due to take place in London on 29th November 2012. The winner of this event will earn the title of ‘Outstanding Business Achievement’ and will receive a cash prize of £25,000.
Commenting on Jacksons’ success, CEO Richard Jacksons says “we are of course delighted and honoured to accept this award. It is quite literally the icing on the cake for what has been a very special year for Jacksons, as the company concludes its 65th anniversary celebrations (Jacksons’ fiscal runs 1st October – 30th September). And winning this highly sought after title provides us with the perfect start to our new financial year. As the son of the founder of Jacksons, I know my father would be deeply touched by this accolade as am I, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff - past and present - who have played such a pivotal role in helping Jacksons grow and prosper into the successful business that it is today. We are immensely proud of our British and indeed Kent heritage and are thrilled to be representing the county in London next month”.
