Play area fencing at Town Pond in Wareham could soon be regenerated, thanks to a donation from a local business.

Imerys has donated £500 to the project, as the company has strong ties to Dorset and its local communities.

Chris Cleaves, UK ball clays general manager for Imerys, said: "Imerys takes its social and environmental responsibilities very seriously, and donating to this play area fits well with our community ethos.

We are all looking forward to seeing its progress."The money has been donated to the Wareham and District Development Trust as part of its bid to collect £5,000 to regenerate the Town Pond area.

It recently emerged that children at Hatherop Primary School had designed some festive wrapping paper to be sold by local retailers to raise funds for a new play area.

The Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard revealed that a number of stores in the area had agreed to sell the paper, which features 83 individual snowmen.
